On Tuesday, May 6th, Adam Scott CVI was excited to welcome industry partner, OPG (Ontario Power Generation) to the school to demonstrate innovative drone and robotic technologies!聽

This partnership event offered a unique opportunity for students in Grades 9-12 to try out different technologies, engage with the team at OPG and learn about career opportunities in a specialized field of learning.聽聽

Students enjoyed interacting with and learning about a range of innovative technologies including a drone operations truck, specialized vehicles with retractable roofing, a Boston Dynamics robotic dog, flight simulators, FPV (first-person view) drones and more! Adam Scott鈥檚 very own drone squadron was also present, showcasing their skills and projects for all to see.聽

鈥淲e are delighted to explore career pathways in computers, robotics and technology with OPG and create dynamic, innovative and engaging opportunities for our students,鈥� shares Laura Doucette, Principal.聽

The school community is excited to continue the implementation of their new computer and robotic programming, with support from community partners.聽聽

鈥淔rom coding applications and games, building computers and networks, designing and creating circuits, robotics, and drone technologies, Adam Scott provides a wide range of immersive learning opportunities using industry standards and the latest technologies,鈥� shares Jason Card, Computers and Robotics teacher at Adam Scott CVI.聽聽

鈥淭his program highlights the need and the importance of having practical and hands-on experiences in computers, robotics, and drone technologies that will provide our students with the advantages needed to become leaders in the technological field,鈥� he adds.聽聽
